Yesterday we met with Dr. Maurice Strunk, Deutscher Forstunternehmerverband & AfL Niedersachsen, to discuss LIGNA 25. The AfL - Arbeitsgemeinschaft forstwirtschaftlicher Lohnunternehmer (Working Group for Agriculture and Forestry) and the German Forest Contractors' Association are very important interest groups for the forestry industry in Germany. They are committed to the interests of forest owners, contractors and workers and represent their interests vis-à-vis politics, administration and other interest groups. For LIGNA and our team, these partners are of high importance, representing a direct line and link to the industry and keeping us in the loop about current developments and challenges. It is and has been a great honor to be working with Dr. Strunk in the past and on the road to LIGNA 25, one of the long-time committed supporters and valuable partners for LIGNA and the team. The baton is in the best of hands. #ligna25 #forestry #sustainableforestry #forestmanagement #digitization #timber lignaontour nearby

Today Stephanie Wagner handed over the LIGNA baton to Christine Meibert. A wonderful opportunity to further align ourselves as a team towards LIGNA.25. 💪🏻 The baton is passed on through Christine Meibert, Figen Günay, Angelika Lendorf, and Kathrin Heinrich forward to you: the exhibiting companies at LIGNA.25. It's a lot of fun for all of us to continue passing the baton within the woodworking community, thus walking the path together towards LIGNA.25. ✨ #LIGNA25 #woodworking

On Wednesday, our colleague Susanne Schütz was in Göttingen for #LIGNAonTour Her destination: The Conference of the “Kompetenznetz für Nachhaltige Holznutzung (NHN e.V.)” at the Max Planck Institute for Multidisciplinary Sciences. NHN e.V. is a research and development cluster comprising of members from the wood industry and science, covering the entire forestry-wood value chain. Surrounding the conference theme "Innovations in Forestry and Wood“ there were excellent presentations as well as networking opportunities. A particular highlight of the presentations: "How does AI support the wood industry?" This industry faces the exact same challenges like almost any other: climate change, skilled labor shortage, insufficient digitalization, and high bureaucratic obstacles. Hence, it was crucial for the LIGNA team to be present to absorb significant impulses on the way to #LIGNA25 in May next year. For all those interested, the presentations will be available online after the event at www.nhn-tagung.de

A farewell note Join me and the entire team today in saying goodbye to one of the hearts and minds of LIGNA This week we bid farewell to Elke Hein, the last decades Project Director for LIGNA. And if you are like us, saying goodbye to someone you worked with for such a long time, makes you want to put your favorite movie on re-run. So we pin our happy memories together with some sad emotions to the pinterest board and say thank you from the bottom of our blue LIGNA hearts for * the heartiest laughter * the most trustworthy and loyal colleague of all times * the open, honest, valuable exchanges and discussions * the never-ending knowledge and expertise acquired in decades of working with and for the woodworking community * being our go-to source for a lot of LIGNA history * and at the end of the day „just“ being a great person(ality), an incredible colleague, mentor, and friend. A truly great colleague is hard to find, difficult to part with, and impossible to forget. The team won‘t be the same without you. I’ll miss you big time.

There is no business like (trade) show business. Once more the LIGNA team walked the walk, covered the floor and some miles, talked business and enjoyed old and new contacts, set up schedules and made plans for the months to come - all on the road to #LIGNA25 We passed the baton and received way more: commitment to LIGNA. Thank you for all of you seen in the pics and many more we met on booths and aisles. And last but not least: Congrats to Stefan Dittrich and team for successful first two days of HOLZ-HANDWERK! * * * And while most of the team was busy in Nuremberg, our colleague Christine had a head-start over Meike in Stuttgart at LogiMAT. Whereever YOU are, are WE: being part of the community.
